We can see Bolt.New prompts

Wanted to see how open source prompts look like when sent for Bolt.New and realized that they are seen from client in network tab

Turns out they are also seen for commercial version, so we can see what they are doing with prompts
Does not seem to be that different from open source yet

I’ll point out the one piece of the bolt.new prompt I was focusing on when I started using the commercial offering that isn’t obvious upfront to someone generating apps:

Do not install other packages for UI themes, icons, etc unless absolutely necessary or I request them.

This kept me from properly utilizing my desired UI framework, Mantine UI, until I explicitly forced Bolt to use it/removed that from the system prompt while running locally. Just a hint for those that don’t want the provided frameworks in the existing system prompt.

Nice find Eduard! I’m actually surprised there aren’t that many differences between the open source and commercial prompt. Did you find any specific differences that stand out?

There are but not big ones yet, it will be interesting when they release “patch” based editing in full. I will take a look then.
