Effectiveness of 4o-mini?

I’m wondering what successes/issues people have had using 4o-mini. Obviously much cheaper than 4o (and I’m still happy with DeepSeek too), but before I dig into a project, just wondered how people had found it.

Great question! I’ve used GPT-4o-mini a bit with bolt.diy in the past and I’ve gotten decent results but nothing to write home about. Using R1 is only a bit more expensive and I get way better results.

So R1 over V3 then? Not that im a penny pincher

Yes I’d recommend R1 for sure! Way better results from my testing.
