Codeium.com/windsurf

Hello,

Just came across another similar product that I wanted to share with the team. Wanted to know if there’s any features that can be incorporated into this fork. Seems like it analyzes the code without rewriting the entire code base each time also another item that really stuck out is you can keep closing out the AI chat window essentially restarting the chat context without the entire page refreshing.

i just installed i dont see anything special about this app at all, please explain what makes it stand out from others? it just seems the same as every other app out there right now.

I’ve been using it. It’s actually really nice. The not rewriting every time is nice. The ability to work directly with your code base from GitHub in, essentially VS Code is nice. It does have the same limitations that we’ve experienced with every other one of these AI tools in that it doesn’t really take the full context each time and it can easily jump to rewriting code when it doesn’t need to. As I mentioned, it’s nice and I think it’s better than Bolt. But I’ve been trying to build a larger, not huge, but larger application with it and I’m still running into some challenges.

One nice thing about Bolt is the preview window, which Windsurf does not have.

Its bit more developer oriented.
I was using Cursor before and switched to Windsurf this week. I like it more but its hard to say why  They are not really that different.

I do think that we need to borrow some ideas from it for oTToDev
I was already looking in to grep searches in code so that we do not send whole code to AI but only relevant to user request parts.

I, too, have been enjoying Windsurf along with unslothai’s fine-tuning on a budget. Zoom Zoom!
