ChatGPT and Gemini

Hi,

As I don’t have powerful PC to run AI models locally, I’m using windsurf for programming.
Besides, I have a ChatGPT plus subscription, which is nice to have as it gives me different advice from windsurf Cascade prompt (Claude 3.5 Sonnet). I once tried GPT 4o in Cascade but noticed that Claude was better.
I don’t change AI models in windsurf as it reset the chat, so I stick with Claude.

I use ChatGPT Plus subscription for general using and programming as well, when something not going well in Windsurf.
When ask same programming related questions in ChatGPT and Gemini AI studio, I noticed the latter is giving very nice responses, but it seems that Gemini Standalone subscription has more capabilities that Gemini AI studio (correct me if I’m wrong).

Now I started thinking to have another subscription for Gemini standalone as well, so that I can compare between outputs in ChatGPT and then decide which response better suits to what I’m looking for.

Any advice or opinion on this is very appreciated as I believe I’m not the one in this situation.

The Gemini “standalone” looks like is called as “Gemini Advanced”.

Have you compared Gemini to o1 or just GPT-4o? I generally get the absolute best results with coding problems with o1 so I use then when I don’t mind waiting a bit for a response and Windsurf is hallucinating. Otherwise I’ll just stick to Windsurf/bolt.diy.

Thanks, Cole. Never thought of o1 before. Will try…
