Hi. I’ve honestly searched and can’t find anything on how to access local files and folders for a project started from within Bolt and assume as you can see here at the bottom.
Why do I want to know…?
Working on a project I imported from a folder that was originally built on Bolt.new. The AI config using currently for learning more about Bolt (Google and Gemini 2.0 flash), it had a problem starting a server to run the application. many failed attempts with responses like below…
So I finally get some helpful advice and I was able to start a server in the appropriate location for the project I had been working on also. So that helps when I want to try the app locally after building.
thanks for the detailed post. Just to confirm:
The problem is, that the login screen /components are not shown within the preview of bolt, instead it directly shows that you are logged in?
It voluntarily tried starting a dev server for me to run in a browser. I thought that’s fine but it actually chose the wrong port to start with. Then wasn’t able to actually start it at 5174. I was able to start it manually then realised it was serving the original build.
I’m doing some learning tasks currently on what happens when uploading a project folder from Bolt.new for continued work and finding a few issues along the way too. That for another PR soon once I work it all out. Cross certificates and stuff like that. It’s not a limitation of Bolt.diy, just some procedures to follow after building an app to a certain complexity.
